Rant - Telesales ...

What is it with Telesales from India? I mean, I get a phone call, even though I'm signed up with the Phone Preference Directory thingy ma jig which takes your number from the lists so you don't get these phone calls.

You answer phone and some guy with a clear Indian accent say "Hello. My name is Patrick Jones ..." I kid you not! I had some guy from India phoning me up for a mobile phone and introduced himself to me as Patrick Jones ... *sigh*

I just love the way they start off too ... "Hello, can I speak with Mr. Davies" "Speaking!" "Hello Mr. Davies I am Patrick Jones and I am calling on behalf of Telecom 1 which is the mail order division of the Carphone Warehouse. Do you currently use a mobile phone?" "Yes" "And may I ask which network you are currently using" "Orange" " Well Mr. Davies the reason I am calling you today (My thought is: To waste my time and yours with this spiel) is that we are offering you a brand new Nokia phone on the T- Mobile network. It is a X34ru38183y7 Phone which comes with 500 free minutes every month and you also get 100 free texts every month. Right. We are also offering you free connection and set up charge. For this the usual charge is £30 per month but are offering this to you for the low price of £4.99. We will also mail this to you free of charge...."

They get that far as that is as far as my attention span will allow before I tell them I'm not interested ... And yet they still phone me up ... It's going to be soon that I do a Basil Fawlty on them down the phone ... Soon!
